Pixel RF in Tirana — Fractional Radiofrequency for Acne Scars and Texture
Pixel RF in Tirana is a fractional Microplasma radiofrequency treatment on the Accent Prime platform, used to improve atrophic acne scars, enlarged pores, uneven texture, fine wrinkles, stretch marks and selected scars.

The applicator creates microplasma sparks that act at microscopic points on the skin surface. At the same time, RF energy heats the underlying tissue in a controlled way. This combination of fractional ablation and heating activates natural repair and gradual collagen remodelling.
Pixel RF is not an Erbium laser or needle-based RF microneedling. At Eden Laser Clinic, every plan begins with a consultation to assess the scar type, skin phototype, area and suitable intensity.

What is Pixel RF Microplasma?
Pixel RF is an Accent Prime applicator that uses Alma’s patented Microplasma technology. Radiofrequency creates small plasma sparks as energy passes from the applicator towards the skin surface. These sparks form a microscopic grid of treatment zones, leaving intact tissue between them.
The intact tissue supports healing, while the treated microzones encourage epidermal renewal and a dermal response. Alma describes the technology as a combination of superficial ablation and skin heating, with less downtime than some ablative lasers.
The name “Pixel” refers to the fractional pattern of treatment points. RF means radiofrequency. Pixel RF uses radiofrequency and differs from Erbium and CO2 lasers.
How does Pixel RF radiofrequency work?
Microplasma sparks and fractional ablation
The sparks create controlled microzones of ablation in the epidermis. The skin begins its repair process, gradually removes damaged cells and forms a renewed surface. This is why redness, bronzing or fine crusts may occur after treatment.
Pixel RF does not “penetrate” like a needle. Microplasma sparks create the surface effect, while RF energy is distributed through the tissue and generates heat.
Dermal heating and collagen remodelling
Controlled dermal heating encourages a healing response and collagen remodelling. This may gradually improve scar structure, elasticity, fine lines and skin quality.
Collagen does not “grow” within a few hours. The process develops over the weeks and months after the session. Early changes may also be related to swelling or temporary tissue contraction.
Pixel RF is not RF microneedling
RF microneedling uses needles to deliver energy at specific depths. Pixel RF Microplasma uses needle-free sparks and combines superficial ablation with RF heating.
Both may be used for acne scars and collagen remodelling, but their mechanisms, sensations and recovery profiles differ. Microplasma RF and RF microneedling are different procedures.
How many sessions are needed?
Usually 2–4 sessions are recommended, spaced 3–4 weeks apart.
What can Pixel RF improve?
Atrophic acne scars
There is evidence that Pixel RF improves atrophic acne scars. Studies have shown reduced clinical scores after a course of treatments. Rolling scars and some boxcar scars may respond better than very narrow, deep ice-pick scars.
No single technology is ideal for every scar type. Ice-pick scars may require TCA CROSS or another procedure; tethered scars may require subcision; volume loss may require complementary treatment. The consultation should classify scars before planning treatment.
If you have active inflammatory acne, treating it usually takes priority over resurfacing. Read about ClearSkin treatment for active acne.
Enlarged pores and texture
Fractional renewal and collagen remodelling may reduce the visibility of pores and make texture more even. Pores do not “close” or “shrink permanently”; their appearance may improve according to elasticity, skin oiliness and the surrounding structure.
Fine wrinkles and mild laxity
Pixel RF may soften the appearance of some fine lines and improve mild laxity through heating and remodelling. It does not replace a surgical facelift, fillers for volume loss or deeper treatments when laxity is pronounced.
Stretch marks and selected scars
Microplasma RF may be used for stretch marks and some healed surgical or traumatic scars. Results depend on the age, colour, thickness and depth of the scar. Stretch marks usually soften; complete removal is not guaranteed.
Hypertrophic scars, keloids or active scars require specific assessment and may need other treatments.
Which areas can be treated?
Pixel RF may be assessed for the face, especially the cheeks and temples with acne scars. The forehead, area around the mouth, neck and décolletage require an appropriate protocol. On the body, stretch marks on the abdomen, thighs, buttocks or arms and selected scars may be discussed.
The area around the eyes, raised scars and very thin skin require specific assessment and settings. Not every area is suitable for the same intensity.
Who is a suitable candidate?
Pixel RF may be considered for people with stable atrophic scars, visible pores, uneven texture, fine wrinkles, stretch marks or healed scars. Candidates should accept several days of visible skin reaction and gradual results.
Although RF does not target melanin as lasers do, the procedure creates superficial ablation. Darker skin phototypes may be treated by experienced professionals, but still carry a risk of hyperpigmentation and require appropriate settings, preparation and aftercare.
When might Pixel RF not be recommended?
Treatment may be postponed in the presence of severe active acne, infection, herpes, a wound, dermatitis or an irritated skin barrier. Discuss a recent tan, planned sun exposure, a tendency to form keloids or heal abnormally, implanted electronic devices and metal or implants in the area. Medications affecting healing, pregnancy and other health conditions require individual assessment.
This list is not exhaustive. The decision is made during the consultation.
Pixel RF or another treatment?
Pixel RF or RF microneedling?
Pixel RF Microplasma does not use needles and creates fractional ablation from the surface plus RF heating. RF microneedling delivers energy through needles at a controlled depth. A split-face study reported greater improvement in atrophic scars with Microplasma RF, particularly rolling scars, but also more pain, redness and downtime than RF microneedling.
Pixel RF or CO2 laser?
Fractional CO₂ laser is ablative and may offer more intensive resurfacing, but usually involves more redness and recovery time. Pixel RF may be an option with shorter downtime for some skin phototypes or scars. The choice depends on depth, skin phototype and available recovery time.
Pixel RF or Erbium laser?
Er laser for skin renewal uses 2940 nm and vaporises superficial tissue in a controlled way. Pixel RF uses Microplasma radiofrequency and has no laser wavelength. Erbium may offer very precise ablation with more limited thermal effects; Pixel RF combines micro-ablation with RF heating.
Pixel RF or Dermapen 4?
Dermapen 4 microneedling creates mechanical microchannels without radiofrequency and is usually a gentler treatment. Pixel RF adds Microplasma ablation and thermal heating, so it may be more intensive for scars and texture, but may also cause a greater post-procedure reaction.
Why choose Eden Laser Clinic for Pixel RF?
Eden Laser Clinic uses the Pixel RF Microplasma applicator on the Accent Prime platform. Scars are classified before treatment, and the settings are adapted to your skin phototype, area and the recovery time you can plan. When needed, CO2, Erbium, Dermapen 4 or ClearSkin are compared. The consultation and aftercare instructions help establish realistic expectations.
